Marketing and Business Development Leadership Position

Help Create our Marketing and Business Development Strategy

Your Opportunity

Leverage your disciplined, analytical approach to create a great career -- or even take your career in a whole new direction. We're looking for a rare and talented professional to build out our marketing function.  We need someone to help us tell our story to the world across multiple channels. This is a broad role in an emerging and highly entrepreneurial company and you will help shape both your position and the marketing and business development functions.

What You'll Bring to the Table

We're not putting any limits on the kind of background or experience you need. Maybe you have a background in investment banking, strategy consulting, traditional advertising / marketing -- or something altogether different. You might even be fresh out of an MBA program.

The point is, talent is more important to us than specific experience. Here are the core competencies you'll need to succeed in this role:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• A disciplined and quantitative approach to problem solving.

• A results orientation that motivates you to test and refine continually in order to optimize tactics..

• A creative approach to experimenting and discovering new ways to improve metrics-driven performance.

What We Do

We invite you to learn more about us by exploring our website, but here's the 30,000-foot view: at easybreathe.com we have a single mission: to help every person suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) get the therapy products they need. In fulfilling our mission, we combine cutting-edge Internet convenience with high-touch customer service.  Living with OSA is challenging enough, so we make it easy for our customers to find the therapy products they need and take the headaches of securing medical records and filing insurance claims off of their plate.

Your Role

This is not to typical marketing job -- it's not about tradeshows, cocktail events, or creating “buzz” and brand awareness.  This is direct response marketing. If you're the person we're looking for, the idea of developing laser-focused tactics and metrics is already raising your pulse rate.

You will report directly to the CEO, who has developed a very effective online advertising program. In the short-term, he'll keep that function so you can focus on fleshing out the marketing program. This will include both strategic and tactical activities. Because we are a smaller company, you'll wear a number of hats that would belong to several people (or departments) in a larger company.

Your strategic activities will include formulating and refining our story, centered on how we strive to make it as easy to buy OSA therapy products over the Internet as it is to buy shoes.  As part of an “everyone-is-responsible” philosophy, you'll also be important to our quality control by helping to ensure that the story we tell the outside world is consistent with our daily customer interactions, including the website experience, re-order process and more. If you see us a straying from our story, you will be empowered to raise your hand and say so.

The tactical side of the role will include:

• Managing outbound email campaigns (newsletters, customer interactions, information, etc.).

• Ensuring the look and feel of the website is fresh and user-friendly (product pictures, ease of navigation, etc.).

• Getting our story into publications, including producing articles, reaching out to media contacts, blogging and more.

• Daily blogging about OSA and easybreathe.com.

• Developing content that transforms readers into buyers.

• Optimizing our social media presence (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+).

• Developing flyers and mailers, and managing direct mail campaigns.

• Developing animated commercials for online and television use.

For many of these tactical activities we will hire best-of-breed contractors to help create the content.  For example, we don’t need you to be able to create an animation yourself nor do we need you to write every article or blog post yourself. We do need you to create the specifications for the projects, communicate the specifications to third-party contractors, provide comments to revise and improve the content and make sure the final project is truly excellent work on time and on budget.

More Good Reasons

Intriguing challenges -- you'll put your creative problem solving skills to the test. For instance, we serve a large, fragmented market, and many potential customers feel like orphans with no one to turn to. They'll LOVE EasyBreathe.com once they find us, but how will you get our story to them?

Help people live better -- OSA causes marked daytime drowsiness and contributes to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and other serious conditions. Our customers have enough on their minds without worrying about deductibles or health records. By getting our story out there, you'll help these people find the therapy products they need along with a hassle-free buying process.

Great environment -- Our culture is casual and the energy is upbeat and positive; we drive for results and have fun in the process. Our offices are located in West LA’s Brentwood District near restaurants, shops and other amenities.

Excellent compensation -- In addition to a competitive salary and a performance-based bonus, we also offer benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, a gym membership and more.

Keys to Success

To excel in this role you will be passionate about results, driven constantly to try new things and tweak existing tactics to get the numbers -- and the customers. In addition, you will share these characteristics with the EasyBreathe.com team:

• High energy and a diligent work ethic.

• The ability to learn quickly and to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

• High integrity and a desire to do the right thing.

If this sounds like the right combination of challenge and opportunity for you, we want to hear from you! To apply, please email your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you would be a good fit for this position to [email protected].
