Not recommended to power your CPAP directly from a car battery, use a deep cycle marine battery instead. The reviewer that calls this an "empty black box around a wire" does not know of what he speaks, The ResMed CPAP machine runs on 24 V DC. This device is a voltage doubler that permits the CPAP to be used on 12 V DC.

I use one of these converters on my ResMed Auto 25 while on our sailboat. It works great. When we travel on the boat (39' sailboat) we are often not with shore power thus it is important to ensure the boats house batteries are fully charged.
